wasnt there a direct line from wardley colliery to the coke ovens to keep the coal supply - going my dad worked in wardley for a lot of years - I still remember when he used to come home totally black and we had to get the old tin bath ready for him and I had to wash his back - that was long before we moved to thirlmere court with a supply of hot running water

OMG, the old tin baths I remember my Gran, had hers hanging on the wall in the yard and she used to bring it into the house on bath nights.....phew!! glad we now have modern equipment and constant hot watercheers Cait
