Facebook! I don't know how many members actually use it, but when you stop and think about it, what is it really about. Just lately I have been using facebook to chat with friends and family, and to be quite honest I,m not that much impressed, people coming on.. I,ve just burnt the toast,or I,m so bored. But its the information part that gets me, why does it need to know your religious views or your political views. Now before you think Colins cracking up, just stop and think about it. Facebook a simple social network sight, or a conspiracy???? BIG BROTHER.

Hi Colin, I use Facebook, and have set my settings so that only friends can see my profile. As it happens, I haven't completed the political and religious views, so my views are still my own. I love catching up with old friends, and seeing what they look like now. I caught up with your sister and posted lots of old school photo's with her on them. Used carefully Facebook is great, and can raise lots of issues into the public arena, but I don't like the daft groups who are wanting to hang draw and quarter anyone who's views don't match their own! You can find me on Bernie's list of friends if you'd like to see the school photo's!

Colin, Lynn is right. Used correctly Face book is just a fun way of keeping in touch. I've found cousins I didn't even know we had...However, for once I agree with you to a certain extent. Some people do seem to tell all while on Face book. I wonder how many would be burglars know when you are away on holiday. Its easy if you announce it on Face book. You do have to be careful what you say...but perhaps Big Brother is a bit strong xsx

I love FB!, it helps me keep in touch with family & friends back in Jarrow & Hebburn (I'm in South Wales) whom I'd otherwise only speak to occasionally.

I do however, find it very odd when people update FB with their every move, "having my tea", "going to bed now". Even more so when they have chats via their status to local friends!

But I am very careful about what personal information I share on public websites, even when you can mark certain data as private like on FB.

I've been working in IT for over 20 years and I know the value of personal data, just look at Chrome.

Yeah, I suppose it might have some good points, but I think it also has some bad points aswell, for example! rules, anything seems to go, abusive language, people calling people, and in some case's bullying. Don't get me wrong, I'm no prude and I can mix with the roughest,I just happen to prefer sites like this one, Hebburn life forum, and also the Hebburn webb, where rules are put in place, and people can discuss topics of interest, and throw in a little bit humour. As for Chrome, I tried to check it out on wikipedia, but to be quite honest because of all the technical jargon and i t terms, it went staight over my head.
